The esteemed Los Angeles–based watch brand MVMT has experienced a meteoric rise in its decade of existence. In celebration of their eighth year of doing business, the brand created a limited edition watch with an “8” theme, with a black and deep-purple color palette. The MVMT creative team reached out to me and expressed a desire to have a series of images made featuring a pool table and eight-balls, utilizing the same purple and black palette. Working within that concept, I devised four sketches, ordered props, and built sets. The result was four unique yet cohesive images, one of which you see presented in this book. In addition to the APA Awards, the image has also been recognized as an award winner by Graphis and the Prix de la Photographie, Paris.
