Mushrooms are an important link in the food chain of forest ecosystems, where they contribute to the nutrition of plant communities and serve as food for insects, birds and various animals. They are also an increasingly valued resource for human consumption due to their nutritional value, organoleptic characteristics and gastronomic versatility.
