Heroes and cowards
E1 I was there, and yet I was looking in a completely different direction. I stood on the edge of the cliff and enjoyed the feeling of freedom and victory. When I suddenly heard gunshots, I almost fell (and maybe it would have been better that way). Crouched down, I looked back in the direction from where the shots sounded, straightened up, and a smile flitted across my face for a split second. Those of us who were lucky enough to survive had the opportunity to watch the raising of the flag and the grand celebration of victory. Then it came and I realized that we were actually celebrating the deaths of nearly 85 million human sacrifices. E2 I was winced, unable to move. I couldn't hear anything except the beating of my own heart. No gunshot, no cheering, just... E3 The commander came up to me, stood there in silence with me. The dawn was bloody and the last rays of sunlight were falling on us. I didn't know what to say at the sight of the horror. I wanted to scream but I couldn't. After a while I was left there alone again. E4 I stared at that horror for all eternity, even the sky was start cry with me. I stood there all night, sleepless, hungry, soaked to the skin of my bones, but nothing could undo what we had done. Victory
