"Leap of Faith" is my photography journey into the ultra-orthodox Jewish neighborhoods in Israel. As a secular woman, those places always seemed to me like a distant land, where daily life and culture are so far away from my own. From the external characteristics like clothing, through the religious rituals, and up to the daily observance of the "mitzvot" - everything looked strange to me, almost like a parallel universe. In this on-going project, I aim to explore these communities without judgment and without prejudice. I enter this world with great curiosity, and document slices of life as they unfold in front of my lens. Through this documentary project I wish to convey what I felt visiting those neighborhoods - a deeper look would always reveal more similarities than differences.
